Two Day Wine Tour

Why not have a more relaxing time in the wine country by spending one night in Stellenbosch (the oldest town in South Africa 1679) and  soaking up the atmosphere of the quaint village nightlife of bars, bistros and award winning restaurants!

This tour includes cheese, olive and chocolate tasting combined with a flexible wine tour itinerary on both days. If there is a certain wine you have tasted or perhaps you have heard of a wine estate that you would like to visit, we will tailor the tour to suit you. A relaxed, informal, informative tour that takes in wine, food and spectacular scenery of Mountain passes and vineyards….. a truly memorable experience!

Day 1

We collect you in Cape Town from your hotel or guest house and transfer to Stellenbosch where we start the day with a champagne tasting at Simonsig wine estate; here you will also get an opportunity to sample South Africa’s very own Pinotage wine. The Estate was the first vineyard in South Africa to produce MCC  ( methode champenoise)  as it is known here in 1973. Our next stop will be Warwick wine estate where their award winning wines do not fail to impress and if time permits we can do a big 5 wine tour through the vineyards! ( own account ).  Anura vineyard where we taste some lovely cheese paired with wine is next on our list before we stop for lunch in the Paarl region at Glen Carlou vineyard for lunch and a tasting. Spectacular views over the vineyards and a scrumptious lunch are a given! The day is completed with a Port and Chocolate tasting at Muratie wine estate (make sure to bring your camera ! ) One of the oldest estates in the Stellenbosch region.

Day 2

After a leisurely breakfast and a drive through the town of Stellenbosch we head for the Helshoogte Mountain Pass and Franschhoek, on the way we stop off at Thelema Mountain Vineyard to taste their magnificent terrior specific wines with great views to match.Bochendal Vineyard (1688) the oldest vineyard in the Franschhoek valley is a must see as we step back in time to view the magnificent estate in all its glory

Before we visit the town of Franschhoek we stop off at La Motte to experience one of the most beautiful vineyards in the Franschhoek valley and to have a leisurely lunch at Pierneef Restaurant ( Voted in the Top Ten SA Restaurants at the Eat Out Awards )

The town of Franschhoek is now in our sights where we drive through on our way to Boekenhoutskloof vineyard ( voted the best in South Africa 2012  John Platter ! ) home of the “Chocolate Block “ As the day winds down we head for Cape Town to end a memorable trip in the wine country!
